2014aAll about Claire Swindale … aka Swin!  Founder and Creative.

I’m continually inspired by living and working in London.

With boundless energy I’ve built a reputation for stylish, colourful, observational and imaginative art and design.

My signature style is structured yet whimsical, timeless yet edgy.  Oozes British humour, is ‘fabulously fearless’, subtle yet strong.

2014 saw the launch of my collection of Limited Edition luxurious Silk Scarves created using some of my London photography. They are simply beautiful pieces with a sense of fun, a story and/or emotion!

My Interior Design collections were first seen at ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in New York in 2015, comprising my WallpaperFabric and Cushion designs.  And have returned to the Big Apple annually since.   Its a lot of fun and very successful!

The   ‘No Sex Please, We’re British’ collection, provoking very British yet loud verbal ‘Ohhh’s’ & ‘Arrrs’ in the Ben Oakley Gallery, London, a great reaction in 2017.

This year ‘BBespoke Interiors’ and ‘Claire Swindale’ are collaborating on Furniture collections, under the name ‘Organised Chaos‘.  Which just about pictures the scene of our time in the workshop designing, creative thinking and enjoying making the pieces.  We’re having a ball.  We launched showing our ‘Vintage-Pimped‘ and ‘Made To Order’ collections at Make It British LIVE 2018.  May 2018 also brings to this site, the launch of Thomas MacGregors’ Silk Scarves and Pocket Hankies.  Its all go!

It’s paramount that all my work is of high quality and British made.  I’m continually flying our fabulous Flag, and supporting others, including Fine Cell Work, who are hosting an evening on 29 November, you too are invited.

“You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London.  No Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life, for there is in London all that life can afford.”  Samuel Johnson

Ben of the Ben Oakley Gallery:  “After knowing & working with Swin for many years I can genuinely say she is a thoroughly trustworthy conscientious creative soul and a pleasure to be around. & she didn’t even pay me to say that!!

This woman is passionate about her designs, rather wonderfully crazy.  We love the drag queen, you feel like you want to bite it!!!”  Julia Johnson (Pickwick Papers)

And please read the lovely Blog by Meet Bernard of Greenwich …

…a feature in The Resident Guide Blackheath 2017.

And a mention in San Francisco Magazine, June 2017.  Listed as ‘a Claire Swindale pillow. She’s everything that’s right about English design; a little punk rock, a little in-your-face, not afraid of color, and always an element of taking the piss‘.

The latest piece on my style and design is on the Apartment Therapy website.  Fun read.
