Its Story
footI believe it started life as a high backed chair. It looks like the back was lowered, you can see and feel where the centre slat once was.
My Aunt had it for many years. It grew to a sorry, yet loved state, with a faded embroidered top continuing to fade.
When I stripped it back, ready for a refurb, ready for its third(?) Chapter, I found two beautifully folded and cared for little boys, knitted (circa WW1) tank tops. Feeling their obvious importance, I hand washed them, refolded them and popped them back inside with a dated note.
Maybe someone will enjoy the surprise when creating Chapter 4.
Frame painted red, the top Embroidered by me, using a Liberty of London pattern, studded in ‘silver’.
