2014aA bit about Claire Swindale … aka Swin!

I’m continually inspired by living and working in London.

And with boundless energy I’ve built a reputation for stylish, colourful and imaginative art and designs.

My signature style is structured yet whimsical, timeless yet edgy.  Oozes British humour, is ultimately ‘fabulously fearless’.

All the artwork on this site is my own.  All designs are mine.  Fabric and Wallpapers are printed in Manchester, my book printed in Norwich, Art printed in Woolwich.   This is my contribution to keeping everything British and sustainable.

I offer a selection of Art.  Currently 3 Interior Design Collections.  And my latest project is my Book.  ‘Not Afraid of Colour‘.  The book and limited edition prints are avaialable.  I’m developing some of the designs for an Interiors Collection of the same name.

My current show is at Ben Oakley Gallery from 31 July – 15 August.  Wednesday-Sunday, 11-6pm.  A wonderful show-n-sell of all my work across the board led by the ‘Not Afraid of Colour’ work.  Please visit, it will be good to see you there.

“You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London.
No Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life, for there is in London all that life can afford.”  Samuel Johnson

Ben of the Ben Oakley Gallery:  “After knowing & working with Swin for many years I can genuinely say she is a thoroughly trustworthy conscientious creative soul and a pleasure to be around. & she didn’t even pay me to say that!!

This woman is passionate about her designs, rather wonderfully crazy.  We love the drag queen, you feel like you want to bite it!!!”  Julia Johnson (Pickwick Papers)

And please read the lovely Blog by Meet Bernard of Greenwich …

…a feature in The Resident Guide Blackheath 2017.

And a mention in San Francisco Magazine, June 2017.  Listed as ‘a Claire Swindale pillow. She’s everything that’s right about English design; a little punk rock, a little in-your-face, not afraid of color, and always an element of taking the piss‘.

The latest piece on my style and design is on the Apartment Therapy website.  Fun read.
